Montgomery County Judicial Center Annex

Back to Portfolio

The Montgomery County Judicial Center Annex is an example of a large point-supported structural glass fin wall spanning 7 stories tall and 160′ wide. Each floor has clear tempered fin spanning from slab to slab to support the insulating low-e coated face glass units that run continuously from top to bottom and return back to become a roof enclosure at the top. There were many challenges to allow the glass to run past the floor slabs in front of a fire-safe metal panel area. The end result allows lots of natural light to shine into the corridors along the whole East elevation while maintaining glare control with high performance low-e coatings.
